What is FrontPage?
Microsoft FrontPage is the fast and easy way to create and manage professional Web sites. It is designed for non-programmers, yet robust enough even for experienced Web site developers.

FrontPage includes a number of technical breakthroughs that provide users a fast and easy way to create and manage professional Web sites without programming. New features include easier installation, WYSIWYG table support, hypertext markup language (HTML) frames support, Auto Recalculate Links, WYSIWYG image alignment and enhanced integration with Microsoft Office.

What is FTP?

FTP is File Transfer Protocol. It provides a way to transfer files between two computers. The computers do not need to run on the same operating system. It is a useful way to move files between your PC and Hosting Creations servers.

You may Download the FTP Software at
IPSwitch

Can I have FrontPage extensions installed for my account?
Yes! If you did not check that you wanted FrontPage extensions in the signup form you may send us an
email and we will install them for you with on additional charge.

When can I publish to my Web site?
If you select any plan over our Basic web hosting plans you may upload your site using the unique IP address that we assign you. You will not be able to view the Web site with the URL "domain name" until InterNIC has finished registering or transferring your domain name which usualy takes 48-72 hours.

Will I be able to upload 24 hours, 7 days a week to update my Web site?
Yes! Hosting Host provides you with unlimited access to update and make changes to your Web site via FTP or FrontPage 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

Can I use both FrontPage & FTP to upload?
Hosting Host can setup your FrontPage site to have FrontPage and FTP access, but this will be at your own risk. This is considered a non-standard FrontPage site - this implementation is not recommended or supported by Microsoft. Hosting Creations cannot recommend or support the configuration either. We can set this up for users who are sure they want both types of access to their Website, and are aware that it is a non-standard implementation.

>> FTP allows the ability for customers to inadvertently delete _vti folders and thus remove part of the server extensions.

>> FrontPage designed pages with web bots that are published with ftp are not enumerated by the server extensions, and therefore the web bots appear broken when browsing to the site.

If you choose to have FrontPage Extensions and FTP access on your Website, you must do so with caution. If you are not careful, you can easily overwrite the FrontPage extensions and destroy the integrity of the Website. If this happens, there will be a fee to repair the damage. If you would like to have both types of access, please indicate this on your order form.
